Aluminium producers have already made outstanding efforts to improve the energy efficiency of the aluminium smelting process, and have reduced their emissions of greenhouse gases by two-digit rates: an impressive 45% on average.

Since 1990, the European aluminium producers have reduced their CO2 emissions by 10%, and their PCF emissions by more that 80%.
Besides, the energy efficiency of the process is constantly improving: 7% more efficient than in 1990, 33% more efficient than in 1950.
And the effort continues.
